lolol ya I saw those. thinking of getting a pair ... but have never kept any before ... they seem small, so shouldnt be that mean Id assume .

I've seen it get aggressive when I tried to add a Potter's angel. Dunno if it is just my particular fish but hes a tough little dude ... first and only fish to stand up to my mean Kole tang.
Before I bought the fish I read and was told by a knowledgeble LFS guy that these deepwater fish would be extra shy and I might not see it often - haven't found that to be the case ... behavior much more like what I've seen from flame angles / coral beauties etc.

I had a pair that started in my old 180 mixed reef. They took forever to accept frozen food. I had to feed open mussel and clams for 6+ months before they would even taste frozen brine and mysis. They never touched NLS pellets. The main issue I had was that they were so secretive and timid that some of the larger fish would out compete them for food. I moved them into a 40 gallon breeder with lower light and a lot of overhangs, and they did fine until I sold them to a friend that made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'll be honest, it took me about four specimen to finally find 2 that survived longer than a couple of months. And this was also before I had a stringent QT protocol. I don't know if they would have survived if put into a sterile QT environment.

thanks Jason ! I have read that getting them feeding might be a challenge, so Ill be sure to have some live food in hand as well.
I never feed my angels clam ... Im worried they get a taste for it and then hunt down my clams in DT ... have you ever had that problem with any of your angels ?

the ones I saw were like 3" I think, but not sure if still there at the lfs ...

I just started this thread to document my journey with a pair that just arrived today from Kevin Kohen. The smaller of the two (should be the female after they are a true pair) picked at mysis shrimp on the bottom of the tank right out of the bag. The larger didn't pick, but was exploring the boundaries the tank. Thankfully he is really fat, which means he has to be eating something as both have been at DD for a month.

I kept my pair with Multicolor Angel, Venustus Angel, Regal, Flame Angel, Golden Angels, Bellus Angels, FlameBack Angels and Gold Flake Angel and never has any issue with aggressive issues.

+1... Mine are with 4 Flame angels, 1 Coral Beauty, 1 Regal, 1 Bellus, trio of Swallowtails

Mine is with a regal, acanthops and watanabei's. They are hard to get feeding tho' - I bet 99% are dead inside 6 months
