Multicontroller cables

Can I use regular 5 pole cables from radio shack or do I need the ones made by Tunze?

Yes, the radio shack cables are fine but nothing over 6ft long or the signal can become too weak.

And they will still be able to power the controller as well?

Yes, it is just a standard MIDI or 5 pin DIN cable.
