Hi All,
If I recall correctly I believe that there was a multifasciatus x venustus hybrid floating around somewhere out there, once upon a time.
I have a multibarred in my 120 now, that is eating regularly [frozen, NLS pellets], completely normal behavior, very comfortable, and is approaching his 6 month anniversary in my care. In my opinion a success.
I love dwarf angels, I would like to add another to the tank, however, I am cognizant of the fact that my multibarred is quite a docile fish and that most other dwarfs will probably bully him to death.
This got my thinking about the multi x venustus hybrid. If there was or is a pair out there, the fish must be remotely compatible together. Am I crazy for thinking about finding a small venustus to add to my tank? Is there any reasonable chance they will pair up ? Would a 2" venustus do the trick (I have a feeling anything smaller has absolutely no chance at survival). The other fish in the tank are relatively docile, the most aggressive would be lyretail athias.
Thanks,
Adam
