Multiple clowns in one tank?

I currently have two tanks, one 24g nano with two black clowns that host in their RBTA

and two orange clowns in my 120g that host in their gbt

I have heard stories about clowns not getting along but I would like to put all the clowns in my 120g. Since we have recently had our first child taking care of two tanks is a little more then I want right now. So I was hoping that since they are not exactly they same type they would leave each other alone.

Does anyone have any information about this so I dont have to learn the hardway?

they can get pretty protective of their host.. so if you do try to place them on opposite sides of the tank.

There is a good chance that they will kill each other eventually, and you will end up with either 2 clowns or no clowns.

Yup pretty much my thoughts as well. Putting another pair of ocellaris in the tank can break up the pair dynamics of both pairs.

I agree, one pair per tank, they will find each other.

I second that. I placed. Two pairs in a 125 and they split up. I had three in one nem. What a screw up that was.

They were orange and white striped with two eyes LOL. Just a JK. They were Onyx and Picasso.

At first yes and then they separated. I had one pair at each end of the tank in RBTAs.

I have a friend who keeps three Ocillarius in a 125 and they have been happy and spawning with no aggressive behavior for at least 7 years.

I imagine you might have issues with pairs, but I have a percula, clarkii, and maroon in a 75-gal without issue. The clarkii controls all the anemones for the most part (mostly RBTA's), but the percula has found a nice umbrella mushroom to host, and the maroon goes back and forth between a big red mushroom and a tiny little purple condy that he seems to tolerate. For me it was the same circumstances. I bought the tank already with a percula and maroon in it (the guy didn't really have any idea what he was doing.. he had decent equipment but almost no success), and I then turned my 40 breeder that was a DT into a fuge for that tank, so I was forced to move my clarkii into the tank. There's chasing, and the clarkii dominates, but no one's ever stressed or has torn fins. If you don't expect spawning, I don't see why its not worth a try.

I have two small Ocellaris Clownfish - Tank-Bred and two larger Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish - Tank-Bred. All four get along just find. They ever huddle up at night together. During the day they all are swimming information with my small school of Chromis. My aquarium is a 54 gallon FOWLR only.

they'll either get along, rip each other to shreds, or somewhere in between the two.

the bottom line on doing stuff like this is - are you willing to potentially remove rock and chase 2 of them down to remove them if things go all pear shaped? if so, have at it. there's a pretty good chance they'll either play nice, or pick territories where they don't even see each other on a regular basis. the deciding factor has to be if you're willing to remove them should things go badly.
