i know i've been seeing alot of this lately, esspecially with safecrackers. and sorry, i just dont agree with the assesment there are multiple different morphs of the same named zoa.
it either IS, or it ISN'T. esspecially if it came and was named by a particular person.
i'm not questioning this seller/traders integreity on that specific thread though.
but to me, by saying as long as its off by a couple of shades and patterns is not an acceptable excuse for calling it the same thing. to me, that sounds like shaddy sales tactics to mislead gullable customers such as we are now seeing on ebay, and some other online sites. and ESSPECIALLY in some LFS.
again, not saying this person is being dishonest, b/c apparently he beleived what was sold to him was the real safecrackers also....
i know alot of people like the naming of zoanthids thing. but it comes with some downsides. as the unkowing consumer will buy, and propagate without really knowing sometimes if they truely have the correctly named morph.....
.....w/ all of that said....i can think of RPE's, and GPE's in which there may be a couple of different morphs. some of them have stripes, and some are completely solid. but in this case, the name describes it accurately anyways, its still red, and is still a people eater....
so i dunno, i guess its buyer beware, and make sure you get a clear and accurate picture before you buy.
