Multiple Flame Angels

Does anyone know if it is possible to keep multiple flame angels together? If so, what would be the best number and way to do it. Thinking of getting three small ones to add at the same time. They would be going into a 120.

Should not be a problem if you get 3 small ones at the same time. I have 2 in a 20g long, post QT treatment. They are in a small tank till the become aggressive enought eaters to compete with the big fish for food. It did not take long for them to learn that when they see my face it means food. I know a guy in Cleveland 20 yrs go who had 12 little angels in a 120 and they all got along fine.

Might have to give it a shot then, since I'm feeling fairly bold. Have read that if introduced small and simultaneously, they will establish a dominence structure over time. Don't know if there is a way to determine sex when they are that small since thinking a male and two females would be ideal.

Pairing

If you want to pair off small ones, look for one with dark bars (males) and one with light small bars (female). In other words, look for two that are colored differently. If you get a few small enough, under 1 inch, they should pair up. Or at least 1 larger and the rest very small.

If you do a search in this forum you'll find several threads on the topic. Nanook posted a thread asking basically the exact same thing less than a month ago, I almost want to say it was last week.

One of the easiest ways to tell the difference is the male has very pointed dorsal fins and the female has more rounded. In a 120 you should be ok even if you get the same sex, over 75ish gallons it is usually safe to keep to dwarf angels together.

Searched through some of the old threads, including the one from Sweden with harem of 6 flames. Interesting stuff. Looks like it could be a possibility.
