multiple medias in one reactor?

So I am getting a new system, new to me but has been up and running for a while, I have never run any reactors and am thinking about adding gfo and carbon. I was thinking of getting one reactor to start off. Several of the companies state you can have multiple medias in their reactors. Now I know different media has different flow rates for optimal performance, so I would have to find a happy medium if I did this. But besides that is there any downside? Would it be better to run the one reactor with gfo and then just run carbon in a mesh bag? The tank is a 100gallon rimless :spin1: and will be a mixed reef, SPS Clams LPS and Softies in that order of importance. Also my trusted LFS is showing me the BashSea reactor for a really good deal, any input on that reactor?

Basheas are good reactors. You will be just fine in purchasing (them). Keep in mind you want to tumble GFO, but you DO NOT want to tumble carbon. so...separate reactors.

this is how i run mine:

Let me know if you want custom ones!

Yes big picture but appreciated none the less. With all the reading I have been doing it sounds like gfo in the reactor and carbon in mesh bag till I can afford a second reactor
