Multiple pintail wrasses?

It could possibly work, but not worth the risk IMO.
Admittidly, I do have a couple species with mulitple males in my tank, but all of those started as one male, one female, and all transitioned to male. But I wouldn't expect adding two males from the get-go to work out so well.

And remember that pintails are on the aggressive side to begin with.

I'm pretty sure the species commonly referred to as the pintail wrasse is Cirrhilabrus cf. lanceolatus, which are a smaller, more peaceful fairy wrasse, whereas one of the more aggressive species is Cirrhilabrus lanceolatus, which is much larger.
Though referencing the peaceful species, I can speak to the fact that 2 males will not coexist in a 180g.
I have had two. Neither were peaceful despite being in one of my larger tanks. Yes, Cirrhilabrus cf. lanceolatus is the commonly called pintail fairy wrasse.

Than your experience with them seems to be an outlier compared to most people's experiences, as most have found them on the peaceful side of the fairy wrasse scale of aggression.
When it comes to mst fish, many "peaceful" species can turn to terrors when another male of the same species is involved. My pintail(cf. lancelatous) as stated above is peaceful towards all my other 20ish male wrasses, but if I were to put another male pintail in there, I'm sure WW3 would break out between them. And my tank is 11' long

My pintail has grown to a thick 5 inches and was a bully every evening to the other Cirrhilabrus wrasses in the tank including two male johnsoni, a lunatus and an earlie. Oddly though, about a month ago something switched in the larger johnsoni, and despite being a full inch shorter than the pintail, he has become the boss and the pintail has taken to hiding in the evening to avoid his wrath. It must be a revenge thing because the johnsoni does no more than rush at the smaller johnsoni and the relatively tiny lunatus but he absolutely terrorizes the pintail.
To the OPs question, I agree that multiple terminal male pintails in a 300 is a bad idea.
