Multiple Problems with my 6045's....

I am having these problems with the four 6045's I put in my 120:

1. Most of the time when I disconnect them they will not start again on their own without my taking them out of the tank and spinning the plastic blade a few times. This is very irritating.

2. THe little plastic tabs on the holder clamp thingy's keep breaking. I've already replaced 3 and now I need to order another 3. I've only had these pumps for 6-7 months.

3. Two out of the four pumps will no longer hold together (the two halves). Coraline algae seems to build up on the edge where the two halves come together, and even after scraping it off, the two halves STILL won't stay together. I've got one held together with a rubber band and not sure what to do with the second. It's just a matter of time before it happens to my other two, I think.

4. One of these pumps started to rattle extremely loudly all of a sudden...I think it's broken but I'm not sure how to diagnose it.

Overall, I am not impressed with the reliability/longevity of these pumps for the good amount of $$ that I paid for them.

Roger,

I would be happy to send these to you but they provide 90% of the flow on my SPS tank (I have a slow moving closed loop). So it would only be safe for me to send you 1 at a time, unless I bought another one and then I could send 2 at a time.

Maybe I should start by purchasing more of the holding brackets, and sending the pump with the rattle. Later I could send the ones that don't hold together.

Should I send these to the address on the Tunze website and say "Attention: Roger" or do you use a different address?

The holding brackets have just been redesigned, I can send them no charge but why not send me the worst pump, let me fix it and include a note you need two brackets and I will include them- no charge.

My name is Roger but it is not necessary to put it to anyones attention, just be sure a return address is in the box, usual turnaround is 48hrs.
