multiple six line wrasses

Pseudocheillinus hexataenia is the 6 line wrasse.
I can't remember how to introduce multiple specimens successfully. I know a spawning pair can be formed. How does one go about this?

Nah, not luck. It's easy. Buy the absolute biggest and the absolute smallest sixlines you can find. The smallest will likely still be a juvenile. The biggest will either already be male or will become so quickly after spending time around the smaller fish.

Sure. It's blennies and jawfish that you need the luck for. Hermaphrodites are no problem.

But good luck anyway! ;)

Is there any chance that pairing a smaller six-line with the very large one in my 270 will lower his aggression towards other fish in the tank?

Just wondering since catching him has proved next to impossible.

good question!

good question!

IME (clownfish, damselfish, dottybacks, fairy wrasses) aggression usually increases when a species is paired HOWEVER a lot of the aggressive fish's time is devoted to it's mate.....

Thanks Gary, that's what I'd expect. Maybe once you get your pair established you'll be able to report something different. In the meantime guess I'll get my fishing rod out.
