multiple species in one tank

I currently have a pair of ocellaris clowns in my 55. I am looking at moving up to a 120, will I have problems if I add a pair of say yellow striped maroons? That is what I've had my eye on, but don't know how things will go with 2 pairs in a 120.

Well... I'm asking the question because I don't know. I am considering it because I don't know. I know of a 175 with a pair of tomatoes and a pair of skunks and there are no problems.
Are there any rules to different species of clowns sharing a tank?

Well there is a risk with doing this but Phender himself has done this.I didnt think it was possible but he had(mabey still does ben awhile scence I talked to him)a pair of Skunks and a pair of Spawing Onyx clowns in a 55.I think he had a Sand Dwelling Anemone and a Gigantea.Talk to him to see if he can make it possible for you!

But there is always a chance with anything and most of the time 2 pairs of fish living in a 55 is very RARE.But it can happen!

yea man the maroons would kill the ocellaris clowns. maroon clowns are the most tempered clowns. read about all your fish before you buy them. and with two mated pairs in the same tank most likely the females with fight

I wasn't considering adding the 2nd pair to the 55, I was planning to wait until I got the 120. I was wondering if that would be enough room or not. It doesn't look good though from the responses I am getting here.

Even in a 120, which has the same length as a 55, I wouldn't add the maroons. They are some of the meanest clowns I have ever kept. Plus, with how large the female will get think she would make short work of any other clowns.

I wouldn't try multiple species of clowns in anything smaller than an 8-foot tank. A 4-foot 120 just doesn't provide enough space. Also, maroons are just about the most aggressive clown species there.

How long has it been? It can take seconds, hours, days, months, etc for clowns to be hosted.
