Multiple Species of clowns

I am sure people will have different opinions but I would love to hear them. I have 2 clowns (false perculas) babies, 2 months or so, and was considering getting 2 sebae clowns for my sebae anemone. Is it ok or will they fight amongst each other. The reason I was thinking of getting the sebae's, is that my perculas don't do anything with the anemone other than sleep in it and I thought it would be bettter for the anemone if it had the clowns. Advice on if it is ok to have those species of clowns?

I don't understand. What, aside from living in the anemone do you expect the ocellaris to do?

If they have staked out the anemone as their home then the sebae will either beat up on them to evict them or they will set up house in a different area of the tank. In all probability they will eventually fight.

i was just about to ask same thing Dan,

my advise is instead of buying more clowns, buy some clownfish books.

Very nice, thanks for the advice, the problem is that they steal food from the anemone and don't really have a symbiotic relationship. But thanks for your advice, embryoguy, very helpful

Stealing food from the anemone is completely normal behavior for clowns. It usually means they are still hungry. You can saturation feed them before feeding the anemone. Also, try feeding pieces to the anemone that are too large for the fish to eat.

I believe you can read about saturation feeding in the FAQ documents at the top of this forum section.
