Two tank and a sump
Two tank and a sump
I have most of my tanks in same way, mostly to reduce ATO lol
pathogens, are a problem.
so 2 tanks, both drain into a sump, 1 return pump, T off to both tanks as return.
problem ? in 1 tank 1 sump, if the drain cloggs, water in DT will rise, water in sump will lower, and if set up correctly, return pump would run dry, before water gets to overflow out of DT. (ATO ruins that Idea though

)
in 2 tank and a sump, there is mor water to deal with ... so chances of this increases.
so it does increase chance of flood, but it would be same risk as running a sump tank with ATO ...
here is a pic of one of my systems when first installed.
