My umbrella mushroom ate my pepermint shrimp.... I had no idea it was capable of that. I didn't realize it happened until it spit the half digested carcas back up.
I love my peppermint. She completely leaves my zoas/shrooms/other corals alone(I think she is intimidated by my skunk a bit also) and if I am patient enough I can get her to groom my fingers. Sorry you lost yours though
I think my pepermint was probably asking for it when it got eaten. I have seen it pick at the shrooms mouth before, but it was never anywhere near as pesky as the damn skunk is. God forbid the BTA ever gets food without me having to guard it for a half hour.
my pepermint ate all the aptasia in the tank, so that's good.
I've seen my shrooms catch hermits and their shells and attempt to digest them. Pretty neat to see the shrooms balled up with something pinballing around in it.
How big was your Mushroom that ate your pep shrimp, and also how big was the shrimp. Its a bit of worry wouldnt want them to eventually eat your livestock, i have 6 -7 mush rooms no bigger than 6-7 cm hope they dont eat my peps
