Mushroom behavior curious if normal

I have never seen my mushrooms do this. I placed some coral food in the tank, and it formed into a translucent bowl ...then reversed into a curling pattern....was afraid it melted over a shell ...then popped back into shape....
is this a normal reaction?

that looks like basic feeding behavior. they cup to bring food to the mouth and to hide it from thieves like shrimps and fish.

My corallimorphs also close up like that when they get fed. I've also seen one of mine do that when my goby decided to lay partially on it. It made him move : )

This did not curl up as it usually does....it wrapped down tightly around the shell its attached to as if it melted...then curled up afterwards.....

correction...when I feed the tank now...it does exactly what everyone says as I watch it cup up. So cool:)
My yellow goby perches on it most of the day.
