Mushroom fragging quesiton

I have a mushroom that I would like to frag and coincidentally the mushroom has some of his foot on the rock next to the frag i originally out him on and some still on the original frag. my question is, Since the majority of his body is now on the rock if I cut the portion that is still attached to the frag it will not contain his mouth. So would the cut piece still regenerate even if it does not contain any part of his mouth?

I have cut small parts of a mushroom foot many times with no mouth and it becomes a mushroom. What type of mushroom is it? How do you think a mushroom leaves babies behind as it moves across the rock.

IMO getting foot is more important than getting mouth. I'll get new mushrooms whenever I tear the foot moving rocks, etc. Almost without fail.

Thanks everybody I think I'm going to try it one is a Bullseye Rhodactis mushroom and the other one is just a standard bright orange mushroom

Back when I was new to the hobby, there was a thread about a guy tosing a few common watermellon shrooms into a blender to see what happened. He ended up with several babies growing from the chopped shroom bits. I had an infested rock and I'd go in and cut off the larger ones with a razor. They'd always grow back, but it was a way to keep them in check. They're really tough critters.

please keep us updated on how this went... all of the mushrooms that i have fragged with no mouth didnt seem to make it
