Mushroom Fragging

O.K., I've been fragging my Rics and Disc's. My frag are growing and now comes the tough part. I can't get the mushrooms to stick to a plug. I've tried letting the super glue dry for 10+ minutes and blotting dry the shroom before gluing. They keep falling off and are in a low flow area of the tank. The glue doesn't come off the plug the mushroom comes off the glue. I also purchased frag glue.

I have no problems with Corals and such just the rooms. If you have had success with a certain method please help!

Try using bridal veil to hold the shroom to the plug. Use a piece big enough to cover the frag and hold it to the plug with a rubber band. After a week or two you can cut the rubber band and remove the veil and the shroom will be attached.

O.K. I did some research and heres what I came up with.

I tried the veil thing and it didn't work I had to wait to long. I guess I am impatient.

1. You can use a plastic tooth pick and impale the mushroom and then rubberband the frag to a rock until it attaches. Sounds hit and miss.

2. Mustang I think you mentioned this before. You can use a needle and thread and tie the Frag to the rock until it attahes. The cut the string.

3. Put the frag in a shot glass, I have a few of those lying around and put substrate in there with veil netting rubberbanded over the top. Then play the waiting game.

I'm for trying 2 and then 1. If somebody has already tried this let me know the outcome. Open to more suggestions, looking for something easyier.

I have tried number 3 except with a beaker instead of a shot glass, and it worked well. I also put a petri dish in the tank and rubberbanded bridal veil netting over the top and that worked well also. Did you use vitamin C when you fragged them?

I do a variation on #3. I use one of those breeder cups that floats. I place the thin rock I want the shroom to mount to in a corner and then toss the shroom in on top of the rock. Leave for a couple weeks and voila, its attached. Nice thing about this is it has room for more than one frag at a time.
