mushroom grwing on clam

Title says it all. Should I try and remove it?

Well personally I would. Although the clam filter feeds I would try to get rid of it. Maybe inject with poison if you can grab it off.

As long as the mushroom isn't touching the clams mantel its shouldn't be a problem. I would only worry about the coral stinging the clams mantel. If you take a razor blade you might be able to just scrape it off the shell and place the mushroom on a rock and keep it as well. Like a 2 for 1 deal.

my clam was on a 1 week decline, yesterday i thought it was dead. there were probably 8 shrooms on it.

i cut them off this morning and now its open and the mantel is out of the shell for the first time in a week.

i thought it was a goner for sure and i was bummed after keeping it for 5 years and having it tripple in size
