Mushroom oozing

So one of my mushrooms looks like it completely lost its top and it's oozing whatever it's made of. Don't mean to sound like a complete newb if this is normal, but I am a mushroom newb :P

Is this normal? The only thing in with them is liverock with hitch-hikers, including one huge bristleworm (probably half an inch thick, 4 inches long) (that's huge to me :P)

I haven't seen the bristleworm munching on this guy, and if it did, it left the scene quickly because this has happened in less than an hour.

/end newb question

hard to say with little tank info you have provided....but try putting it lower in the tank and maybe further away from high water flow...could be your water paremeters, not sure if you have enough/too much lights, how long has your tank been established, etc...there are a lot of smart folks on here, but they need alot more detail to help you....good luck!

What do you mean that it lost its top? Did you cut it off? Did it get eaten? it just disappeared? Did it melt away? What kind of mushroom was it? Ricordea? Yuma? normal old discosma or rhodactis?

Is it just spitting up its guts through its mouth?
If its just spitting up guts through its mouth, then just leave it be, They do that when they're stressed. Probably from you putting it in its new tank.

If its anything thing else, like it melting away, then we need more info about your tank.
What are your tank parameters?
