mushroom problems

Six months ago I helped a friend by holding some of his corals in my tank while his tank finishes the cycle. Six months down the line mushrooms had taken over my tank. They are like algea, just keeps on growing no matter how much i cut them of my sps's. Some of my sps are dying cause mushrooms are bothering it. Anyone know how to get rid of mushrooms FAST.?

I think the kalk paste is your best bet, If you scrape them you are more likely to end up with more of them. try to seperate what ever rock they are on so they cant get onto the other ones

Everyone who can't seem to keep them alive in their tank thinks they are wonderful. Everyone whose tank they over-run thinks they are a pest! After trying all of the suggested - cutting them off the rocks doesn't work (you can't get every bit of it and if you leave any part it will regrow), kalk paste only works if you can drop it right in the center/mouth (and sometimes you have to do that more than once) and even covering them to deprive them of light doesn't work. I ended up having to tear down my tank - 1/3rd at a time over a few weekends - and removing every rock that had mushrooms on it. I still have to keep a serious mushroom watch and have to be prepared to remove sections of rock if I see one. I've had to do that twice :mad2:
