Mushroom vs crab

I have a few mushrooms that are about 1" in diameter, and today I awoke to find one of them closed up in the shape of a volcano. My 6 year old told me that she saw a small blue leg crab walk across it and the mushroom closed up on it. (see far left of pic) Is the mushroom eating the crab? Later the shroom flatened out and it had a bulge in it, and later still, tonight it is now flat and back to normal. I haven't seen this before, but I'm new to SW.

You sure got some stuff going on in your tank! I don't know about the crab thing as I've never seen this happen when I had my tank.....

Anyone seen a mushroom eat a crab before?

mushrooms are a distant relative of nems. I wouldn't doubt it, but it would be difficult for the shroom to close up before the crab escaped.
