Im not sure which forum to post this in because it kinda deals with shrooms too. I picked up a piece of LR this weekend that has some maroon shrooms and some zoo's on it... how would I go about seperating them onto differnt rocks.... which one is easier to "relocate" the shrooms or the zoa's.....I can get a pic of the rock if that will help any...

well...I cant cut the rock...they are kinda "interweeved".... how would I chip the shrooms off and attach them to another rock?

Mushrooms are really forgiving. Try a small 90 degree bend pick and lift off some of the rock behind the shrooms. I have even scraped them off with the side of a pick and just relocated to the bottom of the tank. They have all recoverd just fine. I have some blue shrooms next to a zoo colony that I have to thin out probably every three months or so. Then you can glue the rock chips the shrooms are on to a larger rock or give/trade them off.

When I go to move my shrooms, I just gentle pull at the bottom of their foot and 9 times out of 10, the whole shroom pops off. Getting them to reattach to another rock is tricky. In my case, I usually just let them float around until they find a place. If I want to be more specific I gently rubberband their foot to the rock I want them on. If the rubberband is too tight, it will pinch off the foot, so be careful.

Hope this helps!! Good luck!!
