Mushrooms - Good or bad for tank ?

My purple mushrooms have been difficult to make stick, they stuck once and fell off and kept falling so I bought it its own rock, their purplish blue and I'd like green next. How can I make them stick to the back wall of my biocube? I just started this salt water business nearly 3 months ago.

Mushrooms grow very quickly. They can and will grow over and kill Sps corals. here is a picture of my latest headache. I wish i never put them in.

1st tank had some green striped ones that were taking over. 2nd tank I included 1-2 pink ones thinking that they were nicer. Nicer headache!!

Setting up my thinrd tank right now and it will have NO shrooms in it.

The only softie that I'll tollerate are the tyree toadstools... and then on a rock that can easily be removed if needed.

Sorry, I'd also do nice Ricordia since they are not super fast growers.

I'm definitely the odd man out on this thread. Can't tell you how many mushroom colonies I've purchased during the past two years, only to have them dissipate/melt.

Fish: 2 wrasses, a jawfish, watchman, foxface, flameback pygmy angel, flame hawk, coral beauty, yellow tip damsel, 2 tiny false percs, sailfin tang
Other: large cleaner shrimp, large coral banded shrimp, several crabs and snails

You sure your angel isnt picking on them?

does mushroom will be ok in 30 C temperature ? i mean, can they grow?

I have LOT'S of shrooms in my tank they add lots of color and they are easy to keep.HOWEVER they are one of the most poison soft corals you can have I don't know of anything that will kill them but they will overgrow just about any other coral in your tank with the exception of lps. most of mine are purple,red,or green and very easy to keep

What species have you been trying?

I don't know the correct species names but I've had reds, blues, greens, red/blue stripes, green/white stripes, chocolate chip, etc. I've only bought substantial colonies with excellent LR bases. I love the color and texture they bring to a tank and am determined to learn how to make them flourish. Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can provide.

No, they simply seem to shrink and then "melt". Survivors do not open as fully as they should. Thanks for your interest.

Will blue mushrooms spread like crazy too?
Is there a mushroom other than rics yumas that will spread slow?

Also, will brown buttons kill others as they spread ? How do they spread?
