Mushrooms killing xenia?

I have several rocks in my tank that have shrooms and xenial on them. As time goes on my xenia is disapearing and the shrooms are spreading. Would shrooms be the reason my xenia is disapearing?

Every species is competing for survival so the answer to your questions is yes- it's a possibility.

I had the same thing happen. The shrooms expanded so that they would cover the xenia. After a week or two in the shade, the xenia was gone.

What species of shrooms are they? Some are very aggressive... Especially Actinodiscus

I just read something Calfo said about shrooms definatley killing xenia on another site.

I had alot of xenia a month ago. The shrooms multiplied and I have no xenia left.

They are Slimey suckers if you try to grab em lol =)

You can rip them off with tweezers, tongs, or pliers, or you can try injecting them with lemon/lime juice, or kalkwasser

slice them off the rock at the base with a razor then put it in a bowl with rubble in your tank.after they heal and attach bring them in for store credit!!little bit of work but better then killing them
