mushrooms won't spread

I can't get my shrooms to spread naturally...what can I do to speed it up? My alk and PH are normal..they just don't want to reproduce!

If you give them the conditions that they need they eventually should spread. However, that involves not only water quality, but other factors like lighting, the amount of water flow they're in, etc. The first coral I bought was a rock with about five mushrooms on it. From the minute I put it in my reef it didn't do well. They were shrunken and looked like they were about to die. And, that's despite that all the other corals in the tank thrived and grew and spread. Finally, after almost a year and a half, not contemporaneous with any changes in it's setting, the mushrooms picked up and displayed and now there are more mushrooms on it.

If you have a good amount of light and good water quality then they will grow like no other. I have basic pc lights on my 20 gallon ( 130 watts ) and my shrooms are taking off like crazy. Some shrooms won't grow faster then others. Sometimes they wont muiltiply at all.

I wish you lived closer! I could give you all you want. You didn't say where you display them. 90% of mine are close or on the bottom and are taking over!!! They do not get alot of flow being on the bottom but plenty of light-I use 10k 150 mh and 2 65w blue actinics and ofcourse the led moonlights. I feed my entire tank Marine Snow, cyclop-eeze, zooplankton and DT's phyto...
Maybe patience is the key...Everything I put in takes over something else, especially star polyps! What I want to grow, like pumping xenia, won't.
Good luck j.

I have some red mushrooms on a piece of tonga branch and for many months nothing ever happened with them they didn't multiply or grow. Then one day when I was cleaning the back of the tank and there must of been 20 of them growing out of the sand bed.

trust me, when they start to spread you will wish they would slow down. i started with about 10 and now have well over 100 and i frag at least 20 a week. same with my kenya tree's

Some of mine are on the bottom but most are midway in the tank..maybe I should move them down..I think it would be great to have enough to frag but like ou said I'll probably live to regret it..lol
