I have a dark blue mushroon that is turning white i think it might be a problem but since im new at this im not sure can anyone advise

thanks for responding drummereef i had water checked at lfs and they said all was perfect , my light is current dual satalite 65 wtt , 4 inches above water , i do have mushroons high and have them low with little light getting to them at all . and both have turned white , I did not place the ones low under the rocks i had a landslide a mounth ago and two fell off rock where they were and somehow planted themselves where they are. they look fine but are changing colors , they have been changing slowly for 2 weeks now as of now they are 60 percent white , not that they are ugly white but i dont think this is normal ,
i have lots of soft coral in tank and other mushroons and all is well with everything else but mabye these guys show somthing wrong first and the problem could spread

sal= 35
ph= 8.3
alk=175
ammonia=0
nitrite=0
nitrate=10
test strips look perfect as well as mini lad test
92 gal tank with wetdry filter bio ball setup , uv sterilizer , and skimmer

you can see how white it is turning :confused:

they are dying, could be from a number of different things...

You need to get some test kits of your own, dont always rely on what the LFS says is fine.

OHH i see a torch coral right next to them i belive, that torch can send out sweepers at night a foot long and sting anything in reach of it to death. You might want to look into that.

My money is on that torch, they are dangerously close to it.
Are they are downwind in the current from the torch ?

what is your temp like? Mushrooms DO NOT tolerate high temps and they shrivel just like in your pics!

yes they are down current would it help to move them
what would the tourch do to them

Shrooms hate flow.

They also hate high temps

Kalk can kill them.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the Torch. Check your Temp first. How's your photoperiod like?

temp runs 80 almost all the time
photo time is blue one hour then blue and white 9 hrs then blue one hour then moon light

they do get a pletty lot of flow there but the thing is the blue shroons every where in tank are doing the same thing but they might have fallen off that rock and transplanted

it sounds to me as if it's a lighting issue, and i've never seen the white effect hit a soft coral like that, stony corals- yes, but it would a first for shrooms, i would try just giving them some shade and would think it would be a worth a second check on the water levels...good luck wish i could help more

thanks i moved it today and will give it awhile, at night i shine a light on it and it glows with life , so i know its alive it opens and closes as it should , mabye they died it prior to sell and its really white LOL
