There's a 99.999999% chance that it will slowly starve to death, and then when it starts to decay it will likely wipe out everything else in your tank since it has such a low volume.

they start out saying that they will die in the average home aquarium,but then say that if you feed phyto or other suspension foods that it is most likely that they will thrive,sounds like standard stuff for filter feeders.if you have a good fuge then you wouldn't need to add anything
The problem with that is that FishMaster has a 6 gallon nanocube... That's why I'm pretty sure it will starve. I'd imagine that trying to add enough phyto to keep the clam alive would do very bad things to the water quality in such a small tank too.
Put it this way - there's no way I'd try it in one of my own tanks...
Now i gotta dump the mussel... I did notice when I fed Cyclopeeze it took some of that in. But nevertheless I do not want to take a chance. Gotta find someone who wants the mussel now!
