If your tank isn't mature you should honestly consider offering that Acan frag for sale. You could probably get $50 or so out of it and maybe could get a frag of it later if the person who buys it is successful at growing it.

Just a suggestion.

Geesh $50?
I saw it at the shop the other day @ $120 I thought it was a very nice coral!

Good score for the new guy!

Thanks to SC and crew for hooking the club up with such nice pc's.

I plan to keep the Acan for now, I will do my best to keep it. If it begins to show signs that it is not doing well then I have an offer for someone to hold it in their frag tank for me.

The Nem has made about a half lap around my tank so far. I finally spotted him this morning along the back wall behind some rocks. So far he has made a half lap around the tank. He is a nice bright green and his tips have nice bubbles. It is either one of these two.

The BTA will likely find a place it likes and pretty much stay put. Thats been my experience. Except with new splits.

Has your tank cycled to the point of no ammonia? N03and P04 looking low/reasonable? I kept anemones for several years now, and one in a new tank (under 6mo old) would worry me a little. Not saying it can't be done, but keep a very close eye on him, and your parameters.

Idk man, I don't like the looks of a 120 dollar frag in a hair algae tank, probably not gonna make it. Let someone hold onto it for ya until you get the tank under control or sell it :)

Yes, the tank has cycled. Ammonia 0, NO3 0, PO4 .1ppm.

Awesome. If you can maintain that, and a reasonable temp/ph swings you shouldn't have any problems. Don't be afraid to jerk any algae you can out. It's good nutrient export.

Also something I wish I would've picked up sooner, but didn't until seeing a lot of local setups. Don't be afraid to run your skimmer wet. I have no idea why the notion on RC is you need to run it dry, and pull black stuff. After seeing this over and over again in local tanks I gave it a try. You pull a LOT more volume it's just not as dark. Pull that gunk out with some excess water before it gets a chance to rot and turn into black sludge making your water even less clear, causing nutrients to rise, and in the end feeding the algae. Your paying to run the skimmer. Squeeze out of it what you can. Consider it a partial water change if it makes you feel better.

You do need to keep an eye on salinity over time, but cleaning the cup a few times a week is well worth the payoff IMO...

Saw the movie before but just running into folks new and old was worth it.

&
I won the purple tang and the zoo frag pack. Triple bonus.

Zoo Frag pack had no repeats either!!! (stuff I already have)

Glad I took the time to dip them though.
I found 6 of those nasty beige spiders that others have claimed are zoo eaters. And they didn't go without an xacto extraction either even after they got hit by the double dip.
Then, 3 aptasias as well in between had to be carefully and chemically burned away. I hope I got them all. This is the tank that has none.

But again, no repeat of colors I already have so I'm pretty darn happy with them. The green hulk ones are killer.

btw.
Hey Kevin,
Those frags open up for you?
