Yes, i dont think i've ever seen a reef tank with a glass top on it, watch the glass overtime it will cloud and restrict the light big time!

True, but if it is not blocking and uv's, whats the differenc? You can place your lights closer to the water without getting salt on the bulbs/lens. I have glass on mine, but it is a solid sheet without the hinge. I also made sure it doesn't block uv's. When you do weekly water changes, just wipe the glass down with a wet rag. Problem solved.

I am casting my vote into the no glass top... I have three tanks running currently and did not notice one difference in evaporation between having a glass top and not...
Having a glass top would make me believe that the air trapped between the top and the water would be heated, and would cause evaporation more than a tank without a top?

See just makes more work then not necessary lol no glass means less work as well

No way, you still have to clean the lens on the lights, plus, who wants salt build up on something carrying electricity? Not I. I do't have a top off because I don't have a sump, all my filters are running HOT. I am voting Glass!
