My 125 gallon build

Currently have a 90 gallon reef. Had a 125 gallon full of FW fish and decided to turn it saltwater after I fell in love with this hobby. Here's where I am at...

Drilled for 1 1/2" drains. Herbie style internal overflow

Drilled for 3/4 locline returns on either side of aquarium

Custom overflow box being made

Built custom stand, painted back of aquarium

Ran electrical outlet in wall

Custom screen lids made and painted flat black

Still need to get plumbing done, using my same 40 gallon sump that is currently being used on the 90 so it's going to be a little tricky getting everything rite without having the sump under the tank to lay it out

Need to get another mars aqua led 300 watt as I only have 1 over the 4 ft tank rite now.

All livestock, live rock, and coral will be transferred over. Need to get new sand. If anyone has some they can donate I would appreciate it. Or is there a safe sand to use that's not "Live"? Trying to save some money...

Here's some pics I will update thread as I move along. Shooting for next weekend to get everything transferred over.

If anyone has any advice or has a source for sand I would appreciate it.

BTW I ordered the acrylic internal overflow with a inside dimater of 2 3/4"... I cannot find a 90 to work inside that slim of a box even with cutting a 90 down. 1 1/2" drains.... anyone know where to get a tight radius 90? Or am I screwed? Cut a 90 down as far as possible and go it too 2 5/8 but you would never be able to pull it out once I silicone the overflow...

Looks look a good start. What type of sump are you planning on using?
40 breeder with 3 chambers. Acrylic siliconed.

1st chamber returns with socks. 2nd chamber skimmer & heaters. 3rd chamber return.

Got the plumbing done. Forgot to buy straps. Still needs those. Lots of measuring when you don't have the sump in there to go off!

Lookin good. I just saw your post about the stand on one of the other forums. Didn't realize you were local to me, though.

I just looked at your return plumbing and I would suggest putting a valve on each side of the tee so that you can control them better.

Hey man thanks for the advice. I skipped valves on returns because I have a 10 speed adjustable pump.

Just a friendly hint... while hard plumbing is very nice to look at it has one downfall. It transfers vibrations and can amplify them. Do yourself a favor and add 3'-4' or more of flexible tubing betwee the pump and our outlet in the aquarium. If you plan on an plenum to power reactors you can add it before and after the plenum. The repetitive cycle that travels through your pillow in the middle of the night will drive you insane!

Yes I will have about 2 feet of tubing before it goes to hard Plumbing! I tested it yesterday and it was silent! Just don't have it connected in the picture.

That won't help you from side to side. What pump are you using?

I agree with Pife here. If you desire to have equal amounts of water coming out of your 2 returns you will need to have some sort of gate or ball valve on both sides of that T.

I guess that makes since but when I ran it to check leaks it looked like there was equal water coming out of both returns. Not too worried if it's a little different I'll be using 2 pp-8 wavemakers for most of my flow.

I'm using (2) wp-20's in my 4' 110 gallon. Increasing hardback to 3 as soon as I get a second to clean it up.

Got everything transferred over. Can someone please look at my tests results in the picture. My PH seems really low. Using API test kit for everything.

Also I am going to need a way bigger pump. Teeing off the return and using pvc this time really cut down on my return.
