My 150 Build

You could probably find some 12g single strand and pull it through for the second circuit. It should be cheaper than buying 12/2 and running that.
Taking it slow as usual... got salt in there yet?

Thanks Mike. Its good to be back. The move liquidated a lot of our funds (new furniture, etc.) so I had to put the tank on hold. My wife finally got tired of listening to me complain and suggested I get something going. I'll definitely let you know if I need any help. I checked out your thread, that is one impressive fish room.

Also, BTW, I think I owe membership dues.

Thanks for the complements on the fish room. I have some more updates that I haven't posted yet. I'm to lazy to go back down there and snap a picture :)

See John Janda for the membershipd dues. Are you coming out to the meeting this Friday?

jejton, close, those are arboreal cages but they contain diamond pythons (my avatar is a photo negative of one of them)

Here is an actual pic:

C'mon Mike, more pics! From what I see, that room is a thing of beauty. Any livestock yet?

As long as we are not buried in snow, I am going to try and make it out this Friday. I'll look up John if I do.

Muwahahaha! Its alive! Got the tank filled and running. So far, no leaks. I tell you what, Kevin can atest, I am a neurotic mess. Things are going too smooth and I keep waiting for disaster to strike, LOL!

To those that know me, this will come as no great surprise. After 14hrs of running fresh with no leaks, I decided to go ahead and add salt. Then several hours later, sand. This is as slow a pace as I can stand!

I will be using the Vortech's off of my previous tank for flow:

Also bought the new wireless controller upgrades. One of my power supplies went bad so I am curious to see how the wave function works.

Since I could get a sitter for Friday's meeting, I decided to keep busy and start on a canopy.

I was feeling ambitious and started on the rock work:

I used fiberglass and carbon fiber rods to support the taller formations.

Finished (for now).

I'll post a better pic once the water clears up. Now some open items I will have to address to take the next step. Since the tank is a center brace, I will have to light with only 2 MH. Planning on getting some lumenarcs this week.

I bought black carbon fiber rods at Hobbytown for about 6.99 for a 3' section. Unfortunately, the one in Mentor only had 2 left.

So for the less visible areas I used the fiberglass rods that come with snow stakes. Just pop off the reflector. Credit for that idea goes to Kevin (Itzme)

Is that a bottle of Windex next to that tank? naughty naughty....lol

Killer Rock work! Cant wait to do mine ,If my tank would ever come in.......

You got me, that is windex. I was pretty happy with how it came out. However, I did have to break out the epoxy last night. When I fired up the pumps a couple pieces, although secure, still rocked with the current.

Another busy weekend. I completed the stand for the my top off water and premixed water. Eventually will get around to painting it and replacing with larger polytank. The top tank is gravity fed and can be emptied by opening the valve to the left. The bottom has 2 pumps, one dosing through a kalk reactor and a back up connected to a float switch in case the doser falls behind.

I plumbed the misc. equipment in yesterday. Although most of it won't be necessary for a while, I have the Ca Reactor, Fluid reactor for Phosban and/or carbon, and a kalk reactor. The skimmer is plumbed but not running until I replace the impellor later this week.

Here is an expanded view. In the back corner is a 55gal that I was planning to use as a fuge. However, I am rethinking that idea and may go with something that is more shallow like a 33L. Also plan a 30 Breeder on the left for a frag tank.
