My 150 Build

Its official...I have no life (and now no money). I have been waging all out war on microbubbles. I decided to eliminate all possible causes and replumb my return. While I was at it, I decided to replace my stock tank sump. I converted a 55g I had laying around. All in all, I think it came out well.

As for the display...cyano city. Hoping I will burn through all the algae blooms before April.

Who said a refugium can't look good. I had a ton of rock left over so I am trying to find places to stash it. I am fighting the urge to put anymore in the display.

Good eye, the snakes in the visions are diamond pythons. I did have a bunch of chondros that I sold to fund my reef. At one point I was up to about 50 snakes not including offspring. They got to be too much work (and smell) so I sold everything but my favorite 3.

I used to have some of those at one time Dave and Tracy Barker stock. Uh the smells I dont miss those days.

I eventually had to buy a dedicated freezer. Nothing like having a bag of frozen rats next to your produce.

Been a while since I talked reptiles, haven't heard their names in a while.

Some updates:

Sold my in-sump skimmer. New one on the way. Converted the sump to add a second refugium which will be lit 24/7 as opposed to the remote fuge which is lit on a reverse photoperiod. Also installed DIY media reactor to run carbon in absence of a skimmer.

Replaced my calcium reactor with new GEO 618

Now that my my equipment is in place, its time to concentrate on livestock.

Here are 2 new editions:

Orange Spot Rabbitfish

Thanks for the compliment. When I get back in town I will take some updated shots as there have been a few changes. As far as a skimmer goes, I ended up purchasing a Reeflo Orca 200.

I see you started using a sock. I found someone on here making their own and I tried it. Very cheap and just as good as store bought. I got 2 yds of the material for $5 and can make about 25 + or - one or two.

I got the material from a store in the Pittsburgh area called Joann Fabrics. It is the Polyester felt and I got the polyester thread also. It is about $2.50 a sq yd. I got 2 yds. make sure it is polyester and not cotton.

It was not my original idea. I read it in a thread here on RC. If I could find it I would post the link here so the guy got credit. definitely a huge savings $$$$. I can get about 23 total out of 2 yds of the material fro $5 and the thread for like $2. That is about .30 a sock :D

Been a while since I posted updates. Things are moving along at a snails pace but everything is coming along. Replumbed the sump yet again. By flipping it around its easier to maintain the skimmer and return pump.

Sure is, I want to thank you again. Its a nice looking coral.

I think I might be hitting it with too much light though as the polyps haven't extended much.
