Been there, done that. Once your skimmer calms down it should pull it out nicely. I did some big water changes when I was cooking my rock. About 80% three times before the yellow went away all while the skimmer was pulling crud.

That may not be feasible in your situation. I sure the carbon will help a lot there.

Thanks guys. The yellowness is stating to go away. Added some carbon last night and its doing its job for sure. Skimmer is starting to break in too.

Looks good Russ, what does your wife think about losing the closet? Thats a great idea though, you can probably keep some stuff under it, maybe even an external pump if needed later on.

Nancy didnt mind. The closet was not in use anyways. Hmmm, maybe I can win some of that Prodibio this Saturday to jump start the tank.

Btw, my new MH reflectors will be in this week. Im trying out a new reflector that supposedly puts out 16% more light than the lumenarcs. They are not out just yet so no pics of it till it comes in. Hope i made the right choice in them. Anybody got a pair of 250 or 400 ballast I can borrow? Even 175 if you have a couple of lamps to go with it.

I have a dual 175 you can use if you want. Also, I have the 2 250 ballasts that I think I fried. Since, you're an electrician, you're welcome to open them up and see what you can see if you like. Let me know. Either way, I can bring whichever to the meeting Saturday. Let me know.

Thanks Cliff. Bring the 250s in. I have a tester at the shop to see if its the starter or ballast itself.

If you want 400w ballasts I've got 3 that coralife that I'm not using right now.

I saw the reflectors this weekend that you are talking about.
They are very cool, they will actually give you more room above the tank to work.
I have a shot of them on the video and some literature.

Nice Chris! Who was the manufacturer? The ones im getting are from Coralvue. I originally bought a pair of used Lumenarc minis from someone here on RC. You may have seen him post on the zeo forum Chris. His handle is Spur2. Anyways, he ask me to call him and we talked for awhile and gave me a choice between the minis and the newly design reflector. Really nice fella to talk to. Hope i made the right choice on buying without seeing lol! So if its the same reflector, then you have seen it before I have!

Russ, they are sold by coralvue, they are just brand new though, show special was $115 each
