For the baffles did you just use home depot glass? That's what I was thinking of doing on mine.

I went to Thrifty Glass. Its off of Powers, in between Palmer Park and Constitution close to where the Harley Davidson store is at.

I had to shim mine as well. The left side is about 1/16" lower than the right and, although, you can't tell by looking at it, the water level is higher there than on the right side. Makes it a PITA to scrape and not slosh water over the edge.

I still need to shin the 125. I have about a 1/4 inch difference from one side to the other. I'll have to pry the shims in though with no room to use a hammer.

The front of my 90 is about 1/4" lower than the back. Its been like that since I set up the tank. Im filling the main tank as we speak with tap to start the wet test and test out the closed loop.

Not yet. I stopped the water before it hit the overflow. I need to drill my sump still so it can spill into the fuge. And I also need some 3/4" hose for for returm pump. Maybe tommorow Ill get the full system running.

hey deuce67 ive been following your build, did you get your skimmer yet?if so how do you like it?
My skimmer is suppose to be ready to ship this Tuesday. Waiting for some pumps to come in was the holdup. I didnt want the Octo pumps he had in stock so I had to wait it out. I also changed the pump from 2 AB pumps to 1 Sicce pump. Supposedly the Sicce pulls more air than the 2 ABs combined. We will see.

make sure you post pics and reviews when you get it.i am waiting for mine as well.keep up the work on the tank.

Will do. Ill post on the lighting and equipment thread once I recieve it. Since I pretty much designed it, I hope it doesnt suck lol!

Plumbing is done. I just got to patch a small pin hole leak on my CL intake and we are set. I got the sump and fuge plumbed up and its ready to go!

and the drain to the fuge has been drilled out and plumbed as well.

I just have to let the silicone on the baffles cure for a bit more and we will be set!

I see so the tank drains to the sump where the skimmer will be then gravity feeds the fuge and then gets pumped back to the tank?
Is the gate valve at the bottom for draining at water change time?

Thats exactly how it is. The valve is for water changes.

Ok, Im filling it up. I guess Im being a little paranoid. Every little weird noise is making me say "what the heck was that!" Lol!.

Its running! One little mishap. The right side returns bulkhead and union wasnt very tight and squirted a little bit of water. I also have to lenghten the durso about 3/4". Water level is just a bit too low for my taste.

Sweet! I know the feeling when I first kicked on my pumps I was running around with a flashlight checking every fitting and hoping the tank wouldn't overflow onto the floor!

Glad to see you moving along with the build, your getting close now. I bet the urge to mix up saltwater and get rock in there is pretty strong now?

Chris

Yah. Ill let the tank run with regular tap for a day or so. Aquascaping is scheduled for next weekend hopefully. Im still debating if I should use this TM salt I got right off the bat or just go with IO for now and keep the TM for WCs.
