My 150G Build Thread

what type of bit did you use to drill those holes? looks clean, I always use a hole saw but I hate it and it melts the acrylic.

Thanks Dan!

Chris, we used some regular hole saws and went really slow.

Paul, the pins method is basically using pins to elevate the panel that will be welded on. We use Weldon3 to bond the 2 pieces with a needle type applicator. You basically squirt the weldon between the seams and remove the pins after forty five seconds. The panel will drop down and was clamped. If I understand correctly, this method helps eliminate some major air bubble pockets. I still have few air bubbles but nothing major.

And the tank is home.

Totally wicked Russ!! I can hardly wait to see this thing filled.

Yah! Me too! But it WILL take a while before I can get started.

Wow that was almost a 6 month gap between posts. All that before I was even a member. Looking good Russ. I'm still plugging away on mine and should be done with your pump this weekend or next.

I think he just realized all the crap he was going to get next weekend, when we all showed up and it was sitting dry, in a corner.

LOL! Its still may be a few months out before this thing gets up and running. Dan, nope, we havent come to an agreement yet. David, nah! Since my wifes car is in the shop for repairs for a while, figured this would be the best time to test it in the garage. Eric D was came over yesterday anyways so it was a good time to ask for his help carrying it to the garage. My wife refuses to help me carry it in the fear of her dropping it. LOL!

Hows my CL starting to look? Critics welcome. Nothing is glued yet and there is still work to be done.
