My 156 g in wall

A little more progress today. The window was framed and the room drywalled. Hopefully the floor will be layed today then finished tomorrow and the stand built tomorrow.
Here is pics as of now. The round window in the wall will get a porthole cover over it and a tube through it to view into side of tank.

Here is a pic of the porthole window in place.
The quicktube will be placed through the wall to the glass of the tank. The inside of the tube will be painted black and the side of the tank that does not show through the tube will be plack as well.

That porthole is one unique idea. I like it... Gotta wonder how you plan on keeping the glass clean right there though?

nice lil touch. So the rock-is it man made? I didn't see where they get it from.

It is not made rock, it is dry dead rock.

were did you get the PORTHOLE, I've been looking for shipwreck kinda stuff for my basement tank room.

I got it on ebay , just searched for porthole . There are more expensive ones and cheaper ones, this is a cheaper one. 10" window and i think the outside is 15"

And I am glad to report the stand is built and painted and the filter room is finished. Will get pic of stand later. Will set things in place tomorrow.

makes me wonder how do you get any work done at work-either taking care of the reef or enjoying it-how much time is left after all that?

Hopefully the decent progress is not because the car business is so slow :(

Nice work so far...BTW, what did you use to paint the glass black?

Unfortunately that is the reason i got this far. But it has not been as bad for us as the economy appears. It was just this last 2 weeks we had some really cold weather and snow so that gave me time.

We painted it with a can of black Krylon indoor outdoor spray paint, I think 4 coats. The we scraped the paint off the hole section.

Here are some more pics.
I have the baffles glued in place in the sump and all plumbing connected.
I figure I will need to adjust the plumbing into the sump for noise once I have it running. I still need to make about 60 gallons of water to get things running. I had an order of LR arrive earlier then expected so I had to get things running temporary.
Once my Marco rock has turned live from this Timora rock I will remove almost all the timora into the sump and just keep the marco rock in the display. There is no comparison in shape and porousness of the timora to the marco, the marco rock does rock. I am so glad I got Marco rock.
