My 180 Tank build Thread

I like the idea of the T's but there was not much flow If I was running all four returns. If I shut down the two in the middle and ran just those 2 side out puts with the T's it worked great. I'm still playing with that to see what I can do for better flow. will really not know till rock and everything is in the tank.

Finished the stand today.

Still have to finish the canopy, plan on doing that when I take it off to install the lights.

Do you plan on voering the glass overflow? does a black cover come with it from glasscages? or do you have to make one?

It came with one, or should I say Sold separately. But I have so much flow I need bigger gaps in it. So I need to mod it a little.

Emptied the tank today getting ready for the real thing. All Leaks are fixed! Salt water is all made but 50 gallons which is filling up now.

Few Updated pic's

It is looking good. I would be careful with your standpipes so close to the top of the overflow. Sometimes they may take a second or two to start flowing after a power outage. This could be enough time to cause a flood.

Can you post a pic of your finished, behind the scenes plumbing?

I think I just saw in another thread that you installed Stockman standpipes. That should fix the problem I addressed in the thread above. Sorry about that.

He he haha, Dude I hepled you put that sand in there, I sat right next to the stand.......I never even noticed you put the doors on LOL.

What area behind the stand or in the basement?

looking good. If only I could figure out what causees my wife to pop out all these babies then I would have money for my tank and I could start a tank build thread. Looks like a real nice setup though.

I'm thinking about getting 2 more eductors and hooking them up on both ends like this. and cutting the middle returns back a little. I wish I would have tried this when the tank was full!

Yeah! after loosing 4 fish to carpet surfers I want to try and stop that. I have even thought about using that stuff they have in craft shop's.

Well flip the tank tonight. Well half of it any way.. Right now I have most of the rock in the tank, still have some in the sump I might bring up if I need it. All the Coral and Fish are in a 30 gal Long till morning when the sand storm settles and I can see where I'm setting things. Here are a few pics..

Stupid on the left and Rich on the right. Just got done hooking up all the lights.
