My 2 Aquapod 24's new picture request

Thanks harleychic, I have had the gorg for about 2 mths maybe, I feed it cyclopeeze, brine shrimp and phytomax with a med/high waterflow which i do tend to shut off during feeding

GrantWW thanks as well, I love my anemone and fear ever getting rid of it, so must upgrade to keep him/her

wesly, that is correct the stock pc lighting is what is on these tanks the are 24 gal 64 watt pc hooded lights, for filtration i only have what came with it, back chambers filled with filter floss, chemipure, purigen, phospad and a maxijet 1200 and thats it, no skimmers, no sterilizers, no fuge, no extra anything on them, I have everything here I need to upgrade the lighting but i just never seem to have time to sit down and do it, and by the time I do I will probably have upgraded my tanks into one big one by then

Cool i also have a 12 gallon nano with no mods i just rely on constant water changes although i am still using the three sponges in chamber one and in chamber two the bio balls and carbon and chamber three the power head. Do you think i would benefit from changing this? and what should i do.?

not at all a hijacking, I removed the bio balls because in a nano system they become nothing but nitrate holders, the LR is all you need in these systems for the benifical bacteria, also i went with filter floss because its able to catch alot more than the filter sponges that come with the systems, i also did chemipure and purigen instead of carbon and helps with my water clarity (or so I think or it seems) with what I have been doing I havent had much for problems, the main problem I ever have had is probably not enough water flow in certain areas of my tank and red slime under my yellow colony polyps but it usually doesnt last long, I just do my water changes which probably isnt enough but so far things are going well considering the first tank was set up in 06

Purple pengiun i will try some time in the near future i can't get good pic's with my digital it only allows a very small size so i have to really cut down the pics but i will try to post some on easter sunday if i can so be on the look out.

what I do is take pics, upload them onto photbucket.com and then copy the IMG and past it into RC, works alot better than to resize it for RC size

well it looks like im going to be upgrading and breaking down both my AP24's into a 75 gal tank soon. or so i hope, Im looking at a 75 gal corner flow with the following...

XP3 Rena canister filter
2x Hydor 3's
Nova Xtreme T5 lights 432 Watts
havent decided on skimmer yet
Home made stand (still has to be made) already have all the oak to do this
80 lbs of Black Beach sand
60 lbs of Figi LR
going to paint the back of the tank black with Krylon Fusion

I decided to go with a Canister filter due to possible power outages, recently had one for 2 hrs that would have been a disaster, I ended up losing my Doughnut coral through that since the tanks are in my family room in my basement and they got very cold, but it could have been worse.

Once i break down my APs will be selling those off

All in all my cost for all is going to be around $700 which isnt bad, Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Fabulous

Fabulous

Your tank is just fabulous - thanks for sharing your pics!

I have just down sized from a 58g to a 24g aquapod.

I am soooo happy to hear you have been able to keep such a nice tank without all of the fancy mods have been reading about here.

I didn't have anything 'fancy' in my 58g with the exception of appropriate lighting and it was very stable for 12 years. It even made it through a move!

Where do you find the smaller corals? I love the bubble coral and was very excited to see it doing so well with the stock lighting.

You have made my day! I am only in week 3 with the new 24g.

Do you have any problems with temp fluctuating. Mine seems to be going from 79.5 - 80.9/81. I never had this problem with my 58g even though I had some major lighting in it.

I also love the jaw fish pic!
