My 20 Gallon build.

looks like you can use a bit more live rock ^^

No way.

I love seeing people cut back on the rock used. The rock walls that people put in their tanks is terrible.

The open room for fish and flow is awesome to have!

TO the OP,

I am 99% sure that carbon doesn't remove alk supplement. I would bet your PH is low because there isn't enough surface movement for aeration to occur. In the pics I don't see any powerheads that are disturbing the surface. Maybe I missed it.

Big changes:
yes I agree more LR; however Im about to get rid of the cardinal (into my big tank) so all I have is a TIANY yellow nosed prawn gobe a few snails and hermits, and coral banded shrimp....not too much of a bio load. I also have 25 lbs of LS. I ditched the aquaclear because I want something smaller....like a small 10 gallon filter just for some small surface movement and a SMALL amount of carbon. I have a powerhead now for better flow, I need something smaller but thats what I have...

The tank placement is creating a whole new set of problems, aside from hiding cords (as best I can) Im going to need to change my aquascape, now that you can see the tank from the front and back, which is really nice. Im going to add another 2 big pieces tonight.

Ive added about 7-10 more lbs of LR and moved my cardinal to my 56. I have a spotted mandarin coming tomorrow (DONT LECTURE ME I KNOW ALL ABOUT THE FISH, Im going to tain him to eat frozen food that what im putting him in the tank with only my yellow nosed prawn goby so he has no competition for food) I added a new shrimp

also added a small 100gph hob filter with carbon and filter floss....I needed some kind of filter to keep the water clear, I switched to a smaller 270 gph powerhead, everyone in the tank seams to be happy

Cool (btw, just bought a yellow goby today- he looks even smaller in my 29g)

watchmen or prawn nosed? i got a watchmen in my 56...both hide 99% of the time!

I got him this week...my coral banded shrimp went after him so th coral banded went back to the LFS

Ya know, the display simply said"yellow goby".... So thats what I searched on my phone before purchasing. whats the difference?

yellow watchmen is all yellow and the prawn nose looks like this:

sorry for the bad picture hes super small and skitish

Ah ok. I have the watchmen goby. It's all yellow I searched online and it looks like a yellow clown goby by the pics I've seen. Man he/she is so small and cute. I think I'm gonna go all petite size fish on this tank to accommodate him, with some safe corals.

in my nano everything is smaller...my gobe is 1in or so my spotted mandarin is barley over an inch and my clam is the smallest ive ever seen (but since its a corcea maxima hybrid its pretty awesome!)

My next addition will most likely be a six line wrasse. I've read they dont get very big. Any other suggestions after that? I only want four fish max and this goby is the first addition....

the six line wrasse are cool. Im debating what to add to mine now. Im thinking about a picasso clown but im not sure. Bangaii Cardinals are cool too I have some of them in my 56. Ive been checking nano reef forums for ideas because im at a loss too. I want something that isnt going to hide snd swim and look cool hahaha
