So i decided to start building a bookcase that would go next to my aquarium, ended up building an entire cabinet for my new 240.
The tank is 72 x 30w x24. I am building a dual carlson surge device that will trap bubles in a old sump before it dumps in the display.
Planned lighting is going to be 2 x 600w 10k MH with led rope for moonligting.
Flow will be established with the surge, and a closed loop plumbed to the bottom of the tank for lower flow. surge will be directed to the upper half of the tank. CL is driven by a reeflo dart.
Equipement room is located in the basement, and holds a 150 gallon sump for water only, the sump delivers water to a 4x4 frag tray, 75 gallon tank full of liverock, 56 gallon refugium, the display, and the 30 gallon surge tank. delivered by a reeflo barracuda
Filtration will be approx. 1000 lbs of live rock, a 4" deep sand bed concealed behind the trim of the cabinet, macro algea, a planned but not built yet turf scrubber, and a underpowered skimmer.
Planned livetock and design will be very minimal live rock structures supported by acrylic rod sitting on a 4" pvc stand to keep it off the bottom. I am going for a reef crest look that will be very open for large fish and plenty of grow out for the sps dominated tank. I will aslo be keeping lps and clams. Most of the fish and corals are in the fish room waiting for their new home to be built. I broke down a established 120 to start this project in the same location.
I will update those intrested as things get put together.
The stand is not quite completed yet, i still need to trim out the openings for the tank, and a few of the shelves. Bulkheads arive monday, and i hope to have the setup complete and full of fish by friday.
Thanks for looking!
