How many gallons per hour are you pushing through the tank?
What powerheads are you using to achieve this and how many?
I know you mentioned 2x MP40 but are there more?

What did you do to that star fish?

Very nice pictures.

Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!

My return pump is pushing 1600 gal per hr. I have (3) Tunze pumps for water movement using a control head.. My future plan is to replace the tunze heads with a couple MP-40 intergrated with my Apex system. Do you recommend something different for return? Does this seem like it's to much or not enough? Thanks for the feedback.

Just read this thread from the beginning. Beautiful tank! I really like the marble around the tank. You also have some awesome looking fish.

Very nice! I have a build going with the exact same dimension tank. Just can't get it going as fast as you did.

Your tank is going to inspire me to pick up the pace.

Nice Pics, Thanks. Are you not happy with the Tunze? Or is it a control issue, cuz i thought you can control the Tunze with a Apex

The motivation I had to keep going full steam ahead....The spark was created from my wife when we had "construction mess" in our bedroom / sitting room. "Get this project done!" Leaving a few 2x4's lay around worked our in my favor! hahaha

What kind of sand are you using and did you end up with about 275lbs of rock?

-Mike

I used Aragonite Fiji Pink sand / coral. The sizes are .5-1.0mm for the sand and the larger pieces were 1.0 - 2.0 mm

Rock I have 285lbs of rock that is in there. It's built up in the back center and then tapers as it curves to the outside of the tank. The rock is the shape of a horseshoe look to it. If you can see from the pictures there are many "cliffs, open areas for lots of water flow. Also the rock is held off the back of tank by about 8". Didn't want the rock pushed against the back of the tank.
Look forward to seeing your tank come alive!

I'm happy with the Tunze....but I would like a smaller foot print and there are many additional options you can do with the MP-40 with the interface on the Apex. Also having the battery backup is a plus feature.
Yes to answer your question you can interface the Tunze with the Apex just don't have the extra perks from these older power heads I have.

That's the same type I was looking at. How many LBS did you use? I counted 260-ish LBS in the picture with the bags.

Also, do you have any pictures of the inside of the tank room?

I used 280 lbs of substrate. Here's a few pictures of my RO/DI setup and some pictures of my fish room.

Nice job. You are a brave man with the carpet. I can't look at my equipment without spilling water all over the place.

I went back and forth on it....decided to keep the carpet. I want to add the Apex water spill detector....just in case. :"Knock on wood" all has been good. I have a web cam on the tank also so this gives me a little piece of mind seeing what's going on.
