My 240 Project

Ok so sadly still no update, we hit another small snag. My wife's car broke down and had to spend my tank money on getting it up and running again. Hopefully soon things will be back in order.

So after getting my wife's car fixed and ironing out other hiccups, I'm closer to my build.

today came 240lbs of sand and the last powerhead I needed.

Glad to see the tank is coming along. You going sps by chance also are you on base. I don't know to many people with tanks on base anymore

I might start trying the more easy sps after I get everything moved over and settled in, but it will mostly be lps. Also no we are off base.

Here is the current rock work I have in the tank. After I add the rock from my 75 gallon I hope it will be enough.

Just wanted to give a little update, it just feels like it's taking forever to get this tank up. :(

Ive got some of that coral epoxy from petco. i tried using it but i didnt do it correctly or this stuff doesnt work as well as i expected. im sure it will hold under the attack of fish but not humans. either way i have about 80-90% of the bar left. if its worth your time, let me know and we can meet up sometime. your tank is coming along nicely, great job. and thank you.

also have you tryed something like a valley for aquascape? a long tank like that would make a real nice valley or mountain range.

When I get back from my trip in Sept (which is when the tank is projected to be set up) I will get with you about the epoxy because that is one issue I had in my last tank. My fish snails, and emerald crabs would knock the rock over on to my coral so that is why i have a very flat looking aquascape in both tanks. I have not tried a vally or mountain range yet, as to I am not very good with the aquascaping myself, but when I set it up I will be open to help with it.

yeah ive been doing this a while and theres tricks you can learn. Theres a great designer called Takashi Amano, thats a master of aquascaping for the freshwater world. Him along with his team have come up with equation theories of how to design aquariums to be eye pleasing according to the golden rule of symmetry. Using color, shapes and math, and we though we wouldnt need algebra after high school.. heres an article that talks a bit about it and an example of how i did that in my tank sub subconscious. i just realized i had done it without meaning. hahaha.
