My 240 Tank Build Thread.

We started tonight by cleaning it out really good. I kinda of look like a dork inside of it.. But its was really the only way i could get to it. LOL

I bought the tank from Barb.. Some of you guys might know here. It is a great custom Tank!

I will take pictures as we go and update is accordingly. Paul has been a huge help so far, so much knowledge to give and lend a helping hand. We hope to get water in the tank by next week!! Stay Posted.
 
let me know when you start your plumbing. i would really like to come by and check it out and hopefully get some ideas for my 150. i got it resealed and drilled, and now am kinda stuck on what and where to put things being my first sump setup ever. :spin2:

at least we know the stand works.
Once that tank is all sparkly clean let me know and we can begin the fun of plumbing.

Let me know when you begin plumbing and I will come by and help out. Needless to say you will need someone to make a few runs to the store to get plumbing pieces... (I can verify Paul's rule of plumbing here)

Here are some updates. We got alot done today. We found out my fugue tank was tempered the hard way ;). And big thanks to Paul and Ed for the help!!
 
And I got stung by my infamous rule of plumbing. Thankfully the Home Depot on memorial is close to the lowes.

Its coming along...not much more to do.

Great looking tank, love the single overflow box that will really open things up for you when you start to aquascape.

I also like the single overflow. More room for the fishies, unless you are training them like I am to jump forth from the main display to their own private overflow box (Free Willy style).

Actually, I'm not really doing that. At all.


I see a center brace on the aquarium. What kind of lighting are you planning for this tank? You have a fuge so I'm guessing you are planning a reef tank??? Please tell us sometime what you plan to house in your cool aquarium.

I plan on running a full led system. As far as the fish go.. Not real sure. Going to go with more rare fish than I went with on my last tank.
