The stand I decided to go with is the Oceanic 30g cube stand i really like the looks of it and it is much sturdier than the aquapods standard stand.

I went ahead and got the 150w version so I can have a wider variety of corals.

For filtration I took out the filters that came with the system and put a coralife superskimmer 65 on the back with a 5x8 filter sock on the output to stop it from pouring microbubbles into the tank.

Tell me what you guys think so far.

That's a very nice start and set-up. Have you tryed the sock on the skimmer? Does it help with the bubbles? The stand does look much better than the stock stand.
Really like your attitude about taking it slow. So many of us rush the cycle and go ahead and start adding livestock too soon and then battle algae problems a die-offs till we are ready to turn blue in the face.
Keep posting its progress.
Nice aquascaping.

well this isnt my first tank so Im pretty prepared for the wait....the sock helps tremendously and thanks for the comment. yea it took me a week to get the rocks how I wanted them

very nice aquascaping. My friend has the same tank and light setup. His Xenia and star polyps spread like mad under it. Although he has had to return that light 3-4 times until he got one that worked so keep your fingers crossed!

Man I wish I had the money for that. Very nice I do say so my self can't wait to see what you else you put in your nano cube.

yea im excited and very pleased how its coming along....any suggestions will be greatly appreciated I have almost unlimited resorces and im about to but on a reefkeeper or digital aquatics 2 controler. I also plan on puting on a ATO and if anybody has any good ideas for this i would love to hear it.

hey just did a 50% water change and thinking of a fish to get soon. Anybody have suggestions for some exotic to semi exotic fish for this tank may put a few acro colonies in there this week. Still looking out for a good controller if anybody has opinions on this I would really appreciate some input.

Great looking tank! What is your lighting cycle? I have the 70watt halide and I don't know what times to set my lights at. Thanks!

I just picked up a mystery wrasse for my 24! I have wanted one for awhile and finally got brave enough to fork out that kind of dough. I figure I'll only have one fish in there so it had better be a great one!

Nice setup. I am going to be in the market soon for the same tank and lighting you have there. Its good to see the exact setup I will have in advance. Keep us posted.

yea its a nice set up, I've also toyed with the idea of a mystery wrasse still don't know what I'm doing for fish though. I just recently put in some nice zoas, gsp's, a rose milliapora and a derasa clam the first two corals are my friends that I gave him like a year ago so they have sentimental value. plus they look nice. I run my lights 11-7

i want to know how your coralife super skimmer is working for you. i've had issues with overflowing, its way too sensitive. i have the exact same set up as you, cept the skimmer, i run a remora. will be replaced with a mce300 soon :D

ive owned the aqua C remora....imho it sucked big time, i never got any bubbles out of it and when i did it just didnt produce any scum. Now im not one of those people saying the super skimmer is god of all skimmers and the only one out there because ive had anywhere from a cyclone to a deltec im just saying it works well with the setup i have im very pleased with it
