My 250 Gallon Deep Dimension build

looks great! are you adding 2-4 fish a week from your old 58 or are these guys brand new? also is the 40 gallon sump able to handle the flow and a power outage? sucks you were not able to at least use the 50 gallon.

I transferred my 5 fish over immediately at once when I combined the 58 to the 250. since then I am already up to 12 fish in the display. I know Im going fast, but its a very long drive to the LFS that has good selection of fish, so Ive been getting a few at a time.

Yes the 40 holds the overflow without issues. it only has about 8" of water in it. any my returns break siphon pretty quickly. So very little actually flows down into the sump.

Understood. Just hate to see a big loss from no qt

WOW! You sure jinxed me! With in the last week, Ive lost a fish or two a day, brook or velvet, or possibly even something else. Its a hard lesson learned this time for sure. I have been incredible lucky in the past to avoid this kind of stuff. Quarantine tank is in the works... Ive got a couple fish left in the display as of now that will be very tough to catch if they are even still alive when I get home. :(

oh man i am so sorry, it's really a Russian roulette that you can almost never win. I passed up on a Beautiful Swallowtail angel for 50.00 at my LFS yesterday because my QT was drained..

Yea, this really sucks... I feel horrible for the fish that Ive lost, Im worrying about whats left, and scared about adding new ones in the future. It will be a slow rebuild to get more fish back in there, I guess Im going to be looking at a coral and crab/snail tank for a while. :hmm6:

Maybe ill get a shrimp so at least I have someone to look at while my tank sits fallow for a few months.

Argh... that's a hard one to call, i would not add anything and treat the tank itself. no point in quarantining to add something to an infected tank...

I know this is an older thread but do you have any current pics? I love your rock work. This tank is the exact tank I want in the near future but I gotta talk the wife into it first.
