I set my very fist reef tank up in mid September last year and it's coming along pretty decently! I chose a 29g because this is sort of a test run to see if I can keep it going long term, already thinking about an upgrade that may or may not happen eventually.
I have an Aquaclear 110 HOB filter with carbon & ceramic rings, a Macro Aqua M-30 Mini Hang-on Protein Skimmer (decent so far), a koralia 435 powerhead, and a 165 watt Chinese LED.
My livestock list is -
Fish:
Lubbocks fairy wrasse
Onyx Clown
Invertebrates:
5 tiny blue leg hermits
1 mexican turbo snail
Corals:
Blastomussa
Duncan
Acan
Green splash hammer
4 different ricordea florida
2 types of green star polyps
2 types of unidentified palys
Watermelon zoas
Radioactive dragon eye zoas
Unidentified zoas
Thick branching green birdsnest
Pink & green birdsnest
Green pocillopora
There's also some dragons breath macro floating around that may or may not be getting eaten by something.
Now for a couple pictures, no FTS because there's this awful dinoflagellate boom and it looks hideous It appears to be fading though! Every day there is a bit less.
The little favia is actually sort of a rescue, the one eye got completely shattered while fragging and it's slowly recovered (purchased in Nov I think) and is growing another mouth on one of the broken pieces. I target feed all of the corals that can eat every couple of days
