im having some problem with nitrates and i cant siphon the detritus. remember i used crashed corals. and i have plenty of tangs in my system. so i did some research and i think i find it better to go BB and no fuge sump. and i change also my salt to DD h2ocean salt.
Yup, crushed coral easily traps detritus and is close to impossible to siphon. Good move.
How is the availability of livestock and equipment in Dubai (if that's where you're based)?
i changed all of my pipelines and checked it has some streaks inside i think from my freshwater before. i change also my bulk heads and everything. i changed also my sump design as you can observe before it was from freshwater. i decided to reset again my tank to build a final setup coz i dont want to regret at the long run where in the tank is established and thats the time only i will change the setup. earlier is better.
livestock here in dubai is good and also corals. shipment coming from indonesia/philippines/UShawaii/kenya/africa/fiji.
marine obby community here is good compare to fresh water. Locals love marine water compare to freshwater.
live stocks and corals @ my buddys tank. =) its up to him if he,ll give it back to me no issues about it. =) DIY leds only LPS and shrooms + zoas are thriving. SPS nope. so i bought kessils and SPS was very happy. but got problem with my nirates and phospates due to my crashed corals. when i started to siphon the detritus from it it made the water cloudy and smells like sewer. thats why i decided to go bare bottom and ill go full sps.
