my 300g reef build.

ty.

im planning on switching my lighting around some. im a little disappointed in the color of the hamilton 14k se bulbs. while the par is not bad the color is almost pure white. im not too big on white tanks. even with the blue actinics is very white.

im going to go this route. 2- radium 250's on the outsides and a radium 400 in the middle. i will keep my higher light corals under the 400.

ive noticed a slight outbreak of hair algae starting. i need to nip it in the bud.

i doubled up on my gfo and bioclean and i plan to back off feeding to no more then once a day. hopefully it doesnt get out of control.

it seems i have this problem at about week 4-8 with every tank ive started so far. ive been able to beat it so far. fingers crossed.

thanks dca. its coming along.

still fighting with some hair algae. i pulled some frags off the rocks and removed the rocks and scrubbed them. it helped some. i also added 12 turbo snails. they are helping also.

i should have the 400w radiums for the outside lights on monday.

i picked up 15 new sps frags yesterday. i plan to leave them in the sand until i beat the gha.

my sps's are growing like weeds under the center 400 radium. slightly slower under the 250's

the 400w radiums are all on. i am running them on 400 regular setting. what a difference. very bright. im wondering how long they will last. i am considering turning actinics off the while the halides are all on. the actinics provide about 40 extra par on the sand.

im holding off on pictures until all the gha is gone and i mount all the corals. ive made a large dent on the hair algae but still some hangin around. coraline is starting to grow, thats a good sign.

Few photos with actinics on.
