If you are going to put styrofoam under your tank do not use the white stuff. Use the blue/pink stuff that is very dense. I go through the whole thread. :reading: The Pink and Blue stuff is very difficult to find here. :sad1: I am trying to get some proper stuff from Naval complax....

BTW under my 120G tank I used 2 inches white Styrofoam. Nothing happen. I will try my best to find out some good stuff to put under 300G. :thumbsup:

Awesome build!!

To my knowledge the use of Styrofoam panels under the tank is for acrylic tanks. Yours is a glass tank and i believe it is not recommended.

If you want to add some support to the bottom of the tank i would suggest plywood or something similar.

As you know that, Styrofoam is normally use to cover very miner gaps in between to surface. Of course, it can be used under acrylic or glass made tanks.

If I directly put my aquarium on plywood or something similar it would immediately leak, because, if there is any gap between glass and the surface under tank will take more pressure of water and get :eek1:

Your tank is going to be custom made right? most tanks the glass bottom panel is raised but a custom one might not be. I am getting one that isn't raised and am going to be using styrofoam underneath mine. (at the recommendation of the tank builder)

I was thinking same, really want to relieve and give you my glass and setup the tank to your house, but the problem is, I just heard that government announced the Raw glass cannot moved from one place to another. Final exit is the penalty of this crime"¦. I want to stay more. :bum:
