i just read your entire thread.....amazing!!! Are you planning on supplementing your tank with some t5s? also have you done some par readings yet? i bet it is a little over 1000 in the middle bottom. i subscribed and cant wait to watch you progress!!!

I will try to get par readings tomorrow. I will also try to get a video in the next few days of the first fish (Mata Tang). As always thanks for the kind words!

Par readings were not great. Its still far from the middle of the summer so I will test again later but I was getting about 250 at the water surface. I think the length of my tubes and the fact that they face north a touch is really hurting me. Here is the first fish in the tank.

I never mind! I will try to get a few in the next few days, its kind of a mess out there right now with me in the middle of a few things.

Did you leak test the exturnal plumbing before backfilling?

How do you get to all the Valves under the tank?

I am a bit crazy. But you have to enjoy yourself somehow. I tested all the underground plumbing by pressurizing it with my air compressor and having a pressure gauge on the PVC lines. If it did not lose any pressure after a day or so I called it good. I can get under the tank via the door to the left of the tank on the living room side. Here are a few night shots I took last night

Still a lot to get done in the shed but here are a few updated pictures.

Here you can see the window mount evap cooler I put in. Hoping I can run it for a couple of months on either side of the summer to save on the power bill. Once it hits June or July I will have to switch to the portable AC units.

On Monday 2 bar gobies, 3 red firefish, and 3 purple firefish come out of QT and go into the tank.

Do the closed loop pumps have the VFR or VFD or whatever the varying speed pump controller is called?
If so, what controller and did you have to modify the iwaki pumps.

The blue box on the wall of the above picture is the VFD. You run 220 single phase into it and it come out 220 3 phase right into the iwaki. I did not have to "mod" anything. I still need to program the VFD but it is up and running.

Have you looked into a mini split(aka ductless a/c) setup for the shed? From what I've read they are much more efficient than window or portable units.

You are correct. I plan on getting one of those for next summer. I was given 2 used portable units so I will use those this summer then switch over as the mini splits are in the $2K range.
